Firefly Illuminations Ltd was setup by two Lions who discovered the fund raising potential of selling carnival novelties, in particular glow toys, glow sticks, and glow products. at these Christmas festivals.
Councils are usually unaware that their local Lions Club has the capability to fund raise by selling at festivals. As a result councils allow non charity traders to annually remove thousands of pounds of potential charity money from towns in exchange for nominal pitch fees.
Traditional charity fund raising events like: a Christmas Santa’s float, a Duck Race or a trolley dash require many volunteers and hundreds of man hours.
